Aerated concrete roof curb

Due to the enormous activity in the construction industry, there is an increasing need for ways to work smarter and faster. To save time and manpower, we have included eaves blocks in our range. These eaves can be placed directly so that the correct height is reached immediately. During construction, the eaves blocks no longer have to be cut to size , which saves on man hours. In addition, no additional tools are required for construction. After placing the ready-made eaves, the blocks can be finished immediately.

Placing a roof edge

An aerated concrete roof curb serves as a thermal bridge break between the inner and outer wall. As a result, no energy is lost. The aerated concrete eaves blocks are placed on the raw concrete floor. Because the raw concrete floor is never completely flat, the roof edge blocks must be placed in a bilge layer mortar of at least 15 mm thick. This way, this layer is always flat and level. To seal the gap between the inner and outer wall, a plywood sheet is placed on the outer wall and the aerated concrete eaves block. This can be done easily with screws and plugs.

Prime

As an extra service, we offer the option of applying an adhesive primer to the roof edge blocks on the underside. This primer ensures optimum adhesion of the mortar and the aerated concrete block. The primer has a green dye that makes it clearly visible which side should be mortared in the bilge layer. Because the roof edge blocks are provided with a primer, the moisture is not extracted too quickly from the mortar, so that the blocks do not become loose. Do you want to use this service? Then you can indicate this in your application.

Why choose aerated concrete?

Aerated concrete is easy to process, which increases the construction speed . Another advantage of an aerated concrete roof edge block is that the roof covering can be mounted immediately after installation. Aerated concrete has many good properties. By using aerated concrete, for example, cold bridges are prevented. In addition, aerated concrete is not sensitive to moisture or mould.
