Aerated concrete blocks 115mm - 11.5cm

Closing a doorway with aerated concrete

If you want to close a doorway or window, you can easily do so with aerated concrete blocks. For existing interior walls 10cm thick, we recommend using 115mm aerated concrete blocks, also known as 11.5cm. This is the most suitable choice for closing doorways and windows. This is because the existing wall is constructed with blocks or bricks 100mm or 10cm thick. This is covered with a finishing layer, often approximately 7mm of plaster on both sides. This brings the total wall thickness to approximately 114mm.

If you were to close the opening with 100mm aerated concrete blocks, you would first have to connect the closed opening to the existing wall. Only then can the wall be finished with plaster. By closing the window or door opening with 115mm aerated concrete blocks, you can start finishing the wall immediately after closing it.

Like many of our aerated concrete blocks, the 625x250x115mm blocks are individually removable. This way, you always have just the right amount for your project, big or small!
